What is Amazon Career Choice?

Amazon's Career Choice program is an education benefit that empowers Amazon employees to learn new skills for career success at Amazon or elsewhere. Amazon provides upskilling opportunities including industry certifications designed to lead to in-demand jobs, and foundational skills such as English language proficiency.

Launched in 2012, Career Choice is live in 14 countries and works with hundreds of educational providers globally, with transportation, technology, and language learning among the most popular fields of study.

Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship

Build the theory and hands-on foundation to step into a first-year electrical apprenticeship job-ready: blueprint reading, wiring fundamentals, circuitry, and jobsite safety, with the majority of your time spent in the lab. Graduates finish with a full tool kit, PPE, and safety certifications.

18 or older; high school diploma, GED, or equivalent (or pass an entrance assessment); valid SIN; Canadian citizen or permanent resident; CSA-approved steel-toe boots. No prior experience needed; instruction is in English.

An intensive, mostly lab-based HVAC foundation covering refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating systems, sheet metal, gas piping basics, and troubleshooting, to step into a first-year HVAC apprenticeship job-ready. Graduates earn safety tickets and finish with a full tool set and textbooks.

Tuition & your Career Choice budget

Electrical & HVAC Pre-Apprenticeship

$13,400

Total program cost, the same for both programs. Includes a full set of high-end tools, textbooks, PPE, and all materials. A $400 deposit reserves your seat, and payment plans are available.
Check your budget first. Career Choice benefits are subject to an annual maximum. Before you enroll, confirm you have enough remaining budget for the year by checking Career Choice in the A to Z app.
Getting funded

How Career Choice pays for it

Once you're admitted, follow these steps so Career Choice can pay STC directly. Submit your payment request before the course start date and any submission deadline.

Apply to STC
Apply to the school. Once accepted, STC provides your letter of enrollment.

Open Career Choice in A to Z
Navigate to Career Choice in the A to Z app.

Explore educational centers
Under "Your Resources," select "Explore educational centers and programs."

Find STC & your program
Locate Skilled Trades College of Canada and the program you're enrolling in.
5
Request tuition payment
Click "Request tuition payment." Your request is sent to STC for approval — once approved, Amazon pays the school directly.
