Skilled Trades College has partnered with Robertson Electric and Schneider Electric to help students build practical skills using the products, tools, and equipment found on electrical job sites across Canada.
Through this multi-year partnership, Robertson Electric and Schneider Electric are contributing to the retrofitting of STC campuses. Electrical training labs will feature panels, breakers, devices, and other equipment that students may encounter throughout their careers. The partnership will also create access to student and alumni benefits, industry connections, and future workforce-development opportunities.

Robertson Electric and Schneider Electric are contributing to campus retrofits throughout the multi-year partnership, helping STC keep its electrical training environments aligned with the industry.

Students may gain access to contractor connections, hiring events, and workforce-development opportunities through Robertson Electric and Schneider Electric’s industry networks.

This multi-year partnership will continue to develop, with planned initiatives including:
The Construction and Maintenance Electrician Pre-Apprentice Program provides students with a practical foundation for entering the electrical trade. The program includes 12 weeks of full-time training or 24 weekend sessions of part-time training, covering electrical theory, residential and commercial installation methods, and the Canadian Electrical Safety Code.
With much of the program focused on hands-on learning, students can also earn certifications in Working at Heights, First Aid and CPR, Lockout and Tagout, and WHMIS. Graduates receive support as they take their next steps toward pursuing an apprenticeship. Robertson Electric and Schneider Electric are proud supporters of the program across STC’s campuses and digital platforms.
